Children in Year 2 helped launch the Jubilee year with the theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope’ at St Edmund's with a most wonderful assembly. 

Pope Francis has declared 2025 as a Jubilee year and has invited Catholics to renew our hope and discover a vision that can ’restore access to the fruits of the earth to everyone’.  We are also invited to rediscover a spirituality of God's creation in which we understand ourselves as ‘pilgrims on the earth’ rather than masters of the world.

A Jubilee year only occurs once every 25 years.  It is a holy year of forgiveness and reconciliation, in which people are invited to strengthen their relationship with God, with one another, and with all of creation.  We are asked to go on a journey of hope through the Catholic Social Teachings.  We will be signs of hope to others by putting our Catholic Social Teaching into action.  There will be many events to mark this year locally, nationally and internationally.
