Science
Science develops children’s natural curiosity and interest in the world in which they live. It is St. Edmund’s aim to deliver a Science education that excites students and ensures a good balance between the physical, natural and earth sciences throughout the infants and juniors.
Children are given opportunities to develop scientific concepts, skills and attitudes. The content is presented through practical activities: developing skills of observation, predicting, planning investigations and interpreting results.
The main themes developed are:
- Living things and their interaction with their environment
- Materials and their characteristics
- Energy and forces, electricity, light and sound
- The earth, atmosphere and space
We have an Active Science Club and were awarded the Primary Skills Quality Mark in February 2021.
